Finding a real estate agent can sometimes feel overwhelming after all if you've never bought or sld a home before or if you are new to an area, where do you start? Buying or selling a home is typically the largest financial transaction you will make so its important to hire some one who does this all the time, not just once in a while. If you follow these easy tips, you are sure to find a Realtor® that is right for you:

1. Ask for referrals: Ask your family, friends, and colleagues if they know any reputable realtors that they would recommend.

2. Research online: Use online platforms such as Google, Zillow, and/or Realtor.com to search for Realtors® in your area. Read reviews and ratings from past clients to get an idea of their reputation and work ethic. The first agent who pops up, is not always the best fit for you, so be sure to read through a few bios.

3. Attend open houses: Attend open houses in areas you are interested in and meet agents in person. This is a great way to get to know them and see how they operate.

4. Interview multiple agents: It's important to interview multiple realtors to compare their experience, fees, and communication skills. Ask them about their track record and how they plan to market your property or help you buy a new one. Make sure they really know the area you are looking at!

5. Check their credentials: Make sure the realtor you choose is licensed and has no disciplinary actions against them. You can verify this information through your state's Department of Real Estate. Here is the link for North Carolina https://license.ncrec.gov/ncrec/oecgi3.exe/O4W_LIC_SEARCH_NEW

By following these tips, you'll be able to find a Realtor® who understands your needs, has a great reputation and will help you achieve your goals. Good luck!
